"Evolving from large agricultural holdings broken up over the decades, this area hearkens back to the citrus heydays of California."
Fordyce Road is one of those typical, rurual, citrus lined roads just east of Ojai and within a 2 hour drive of Los Angeles. With large, active groves of orange, lemon and avocado trees and houses for the most part tucked away off the street, it's a quiet, charming and clean street where little changes from year to year. Lots of room to move about. Dog, horses, bicycle and running heaven. Get to the uncrowded Ventura beach in less than 30 minutes.
Pros
- Rural feel but close enough to town; an easy 10 minutes bike ride
- Quite, clean, little traffic, flat terrain, views of hills and coast
- Smell of citrus blossoms throughout the spring
Cons
- Rural setting
- Cable service for internet and entertainment really a must
- Cell phone service greatly improved but not perfect
