Ditto for Balboa Park playground. Also, McLaren Park is great for ball playing, soccer, and walking/hiking. They have special kids' shows at the Garcia Amphitheater, too. They need to renovate the children's playgrounds at Crocker Amazon play area, including the rec center. Would be great to see it updated like Palega Rec Center.

Technically in Mission Terrace, Balboa Park just redid their playground, added a skateboard park, and upgraded parts of the baseball fields. They also have tennis courts and a public pool.

McLaren Park is a great park for kids in Excelsior. You just have a ton of space for them to run around, and I am sure there is a play area somewhere in there.

If they are into sports there are also the fields at Amazon-Crocker park. Anyway, both are great options for your little guys and gals.
