I love the fruit and veggies at Casa Lucas #3. Amazing prices and freshness beats Safeway hands down.

I usually go to the Whole Foods just down Ocean. Or to Canyon Market in Glen Park. Good Life Grocery in Bernal Heights, too. The Cordova Market on Rolph St. is a very convenient small grocery store one block past Geneva and Naples. I go to the Safeway on Mission for nonperishable items. Sometimes for organic produce, but you should check the lines as you go in. They often have really long lines. If they do, i go elsewhere. This Safeway does not yet have self-checkout.

Safeway . . . stores all kept to a similar standard? Have you been to the Diamond Heights Safeway?
Diamond Heights food health score: 100

There aren't that many choices in term of grocery stores in Excelsior, San Francisco but there is a Safeway, which is always a safe bet since stores are all kept to a similar standard. It is right on the border with Mission Terrace.
