I have recently moved to Excelsior and I am super excited to explore our neighborhood. I have been finding all of these amazing gems. Did you know that we have two staircases with full-on mosaic art? Did you know that John McLaren Park has a monthly hike that meets at University and Mansell? I know! Me either. The Mission Science workshop, X-Space, Jerry Garcia Amphitheater, Coit Tower, Princess Diaries House, Oxbridge Market, Ty Pho, Ramen, Excelsior Library, the list goes on. Here is my list of things so far that I love:

Monthly Hike in John McLaren Park-https://sfrecpark.org/event/healthy-parks-healthy-people-trail-walks-mclaren-park-3-2014-09-20-2015-08-15/2019-02-16/

Mission Science Workshop -Awesome mini-exploratorium that lets you try different experiments. Free drop in every third Saturday from 10-3 and after school. https://www.missionscienceworkshop.org/what_we_do

X-Space -has free monthly events designed for fostering arts for all ages and also a youth arts collaborative. Recently went to a jewelry making event here and it was fantastic. https://www.xspacesf.org/events/

Crocker Amazon Park-A really cool sports complex that we spend a ton of time at on the weekends. Their soccer fields are primo and have a whole host of bocce ball courts, baseball fields, tennis and basket ball courts, playgrounds, a tiny tots program, and concession stand. https://sfrecpark.org/destination/crocker-amazon-playground/

Top 10 Things to Do in Excelsior in San Francisco:

1. The Crocker-Amazon Playground--soccer fields (or football as we call it in Brazil), baseball (which we call boring in Brazil) and tennis courts (that Guga made us love).
2. GlenEagles Golf course, just in case the baseball didn't bore you enough.
3. John McLaren Park for walks and hikes
4. The Cow Palace--just to the south
5. Sushi Raw--kind of a redundant name, but good sushi
6. Cafe Bar--for Vietnamese
7. tiny Los Planos for Latin American food
8. Pissed Off Pete's for dive bar fun (don't worry Pete has calmed down)
9. Bottom's Up--an Asian bar with hot Philipina bartendresses
10. Brazil Street--why? Because its call Brazil street!
