"Edgebrook, Houston"

Edgebrook is one of the traditional neighborhoods in the Houston area. It offers some of the classic communities of the city. Residents of this area enjoy access to major roadways. State Road 3, Interstate 45, and the Gulf Freeway are popular transportation routes in Edgebrook. You will find some busy streets when you visit this location. Some of these include Airport Boulevard, College Avenue, and Edgebrook Drive. There are a number of attractions here, which bring residents and visitors to the area. Wilson Memorial Park is one of these attractions. This is a family friendly location.

It is great for sports and outdoor activities. Another popular attraction in the Edgebrook neighborhood is Hobby Airport. This is one of the city’s major hubs. Thousands of people each week utilize this airport for business and pleasure travel. Southwest Airlines operates from this airport offering. Nearby communities to Edgebrook also offer nice subdivisions and apartments. Another choice for weekend activities is Revelle Park. One of the best things about this neighborhood is its proximity to other Houston destinations. From here you can journey to many downtown offerings within minutes. It is also less than an hour from locations like Kemah and NASA offerings. This makes this a common location for tourists and visitors to travel through.

"Yuck..."

The whole area just looks dirty. From the freeway, you just don't want your car to stall in this area. The storefronts look dilapidated and rundown. The plants, grass and trees are overgrown on the freeways and off. But, there are a few bright spots. There are a few nicer neighborhoods, but the homes throughout the area remain very similar. The homes are small and on small plots, so affordability is certainly a key factor here. Though, the homes are old and many are not well-maintained by their current owners. This gives the neighborhood a dirty, overrun feel. They are also very close together, so if you do not get along with your neighbors, you're in for a long stay. The school districts are mediocre at best, and have long been underfunded and looked over. There are two parks in the area that serve as impromptu places for rendezvous of various kinds. But, Freeway Manor Park has a baseball field that is available for use and Wilson Memorial Park has a miniature lake and plenty of trees to make the whole day seem like an escape. Downtown Houston is a short drive north, while Friendswood and Galveston are a short drive south. Either way, it's a getaway.
