Is Dover Plains a safe hamlet?

Yes. Like most other towns in the eastern area of Dutchess County, crime (particularly violent crime) barely registers. Every major category is under the national average and things like murders and rapes are virtually unheard of in Dover Plains.

I would certainly feel safe walking down the street or raising a family here.
