"Miramar is not just another "Mira" word typically in San Diego"

Miramar Road is the street where the Marine Corps Air Base is located. Perhaps, it is where the name of the street is derived from. being said that, you will see the marines, planes, and helicopters regularly on every day base. It is a very noisy industrial street. Not only the military airplanes and helicopters flying over, but also the heavy traffic on the street altogether make it noisy. Miramar Road becomes Pomerado Road once you pass Black Mountain on the left, and goes all the to La Jolla Drive on the other end.

As I mentioned before, the street hosts the Miramar air base, and many other large and medium-scale private businesses as well. There are some big furniture stores, furniture exhibits, and storages. One of the exhibits has a very interesting shape and design, something in between the Tower Eiffel and the Piramid. It just looks gorgeous at night with its lights on. Actually there are many nice furniture stores on the street where some antiques and modern-day cutting-edge designed pieces can be found.

Apart from the stores, there are many small restaurants on the streets. You can try Japanese, Chinese, and American food here in the neighborhood. Gas stations on Miramar Road usually considered to be a little cheaper than the rest. I don't know why it is so, or how much their price is now. But there are three of them pretty close to each other, namely Chevron and Shell ones.

Those who commute to downtown San Diego from eastern side definitely pass by the street as it is conveniently located when you exit I-15 or 805. The street is not a residential area, therefore you would not find any amusements or entertainments. It is solely an industrial street.

"Busy Business Boulevard"

Mira Mesa Boulevard is an extremely busy business street that extends beyond 10 miles in length. As it is a business line, the place is full of every imaginable business facilities including banks, shopping places, restaurants, government business offices, entertainment places, clinics, schools and everything. With this said, you should expect a very crowded image of the street. It is very crowded indeed! You'll find many of the private businesses being owned by Asians, especially by Vietnamese. That however does not mean that the whole place is a Vietnamese community.

I imagine the street was initially planned as a business place, however, it is now extended with residential areas with many apartments and houses as well. Those who had business in the place must have moved there to spare themselves their everyday commuting. Even though it has many schools and medical centers and clinics, the area is not for those families who prefer quiete country-styled residential area.

"Very Industrial Street"

Miramar Road is the stretch of road on the opposite side of La Jolla Village Dr once you cross the 805 Freeway. It’s very industrial in nature, lined with furniture stores, gas stations, and further down some ethnic “hole in the wall” places to eat. The 24-hour Roberto’s taco shop is very popular with neighboring UCSD students and others who like to eat on a student budget!

"Busy Commter st"

Miramar Road is named Miramar because the entrance to the Miramar Air Base is located on this st. The street spans 6 lanes and is quiet trafficky. It connects the neighborhoods of Scrips ranch and mira mesa to La Jolla and University City. Many people commute along this route to work or to Westfield shopping center at UTC. Also, many college kids commute to UC San diego along this route.

"Busy Mira Mesa Commuter st"

This st is a busy commuter street in Mira Mesa. Mira Mesa was originally designed as a business area, but so many commuters now reside in the area that it has become insanely overcrowded. Mira Mesa Blvd is often bumper to bumper with residents during rush hour. The neighborhood suffers because of this and it is not a quiet and peaceful environment at all.
