Buckhead strives to be the Rodeo Drive of Atlanta. Here you will find the Intercontinental, St. Regis, Ritz Carlton, Grand Hyatt, JW Marriott...and that's just hotels. You have Phipps Plaza and across the street, famed Lenox Square Mall. That said, you will find all kinds in Buckhead. Most of the housing in Buckhead will come in the form of high priced single family homes (or mansions) and condos, but there are other options as well. You can find a few select rentals for under $1000 and you could probably buy a condo for under $125,000. Buckhead is a great place for shopping and dining, but it lacks the walkability of other areas like Midtown or Virginia Highlands. You will see all kinds of people here...from locals to tourists who take advantage of the shopping and restaurants.
