"Terrorized by one-way signs...."

80th Street in the East Elmhurst section of Queens can be very difficult to get to, because of all the one-way streets. You have to be headed in the right direction to be able to travel to the part of 80th Street that you want - this side, or that side of Ditmars? And don't get caught on the wrong side of Grand Central Parkway - you may end up trapped in the turnarounds at La Guardia.

Eventually, however, you make your way out of the airport, find Ditmars Boulevard, and follow the limos around to where you can turn onto the street you want. This is a quiet neighborhood - you wouldn't think it would be, since it's so close to the airport - but it is. Many of the duplexes and triplexes are owned by the families living in them, with common play areas available and on many weekends the barbecues are fired up by noon.

"Get yourself a treat!"

One of the many delicacies that people associate with New York are bagels and that’s probably because there is an abundance of vendors selling the bread rings everywhere in the city. However, some have risen above the rest and H&H are rightly held up as one of the greatest bagel vendors in the world! We got ours from the one on 80th and Broadway and even though we ducked away from so many on Broadway, it was well worth it. If you have a sweet tooth, these are the bagels for you so step off the beaten track (slightly) and give yourself a treat.

"On 80th Street"

80th Street in Brooklyn has similar offerings as other streets nearby. With small businesses and stores, as well as residential options, this street has a nice pace. It was clean and quiet and filled with families, something worth considering if you’re thinking of moving to Brooklyn. The metro is located conveniently on 79th Street, so accessing other streets won’t be an issue here.

"A Few Of The Perks"

On this street, you’ll find a few schools, which of course means children. These are public school in New York City, and I know of their reputation. However, if you’re moving to the city with children, you might consider queens because of the convenience for your children. Otherwise this street had some small businesses, as well as a Starbucks. All in all, a convenient street in Queens.

"Nice street in the middle of Woodhaven."

80th Street is in Queens, New York. It is an upper middle class neighborhood with nice houses. It is one street in a very diverse and varied neighborhood. The street is in a nice neighborhood for families. It is in the middle of New York City which can be a bit jarring for people who are not used to a city as big is this one. A very nice street in Queens.
