"Check out the Alleyway"
This street, even though it is part of Sonoma Square, deserves its own separate review primarily because of the nearby alleyway that many people miss. If you stand on 1st Street East, about halfway between the northern and southern side of the Square, you will find it, and it is worth the detour.
The cobblestone streets definitely provide a feeling that is more European and less California, removed from the rest of the town. Taste of the Himalayas offers by far the best eating in town (granted, I haven't eaten at every restaurant, but am basing this on multiple local recommendations). The Irish pub across the street is a logical spot to continue the party if you feel like sticking around, because you just may never want to leave.
