"Estell Manor Park"

Estell Manor Park is close by to Mays Landing, NJ on Route 50 – It is situated on around 1700 acres. This is Atlantic County Park System's most popular park and the Division of Parks and Recreation headquarters.

“The Atlantic County Park System is committed to the preservation of open space and outdoor recreation. The Atlantic County Park System offers a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities including events, crafts, environmental education, and children's programs.”

In my humble opinion, it’s a great area for every one to have the benefit of when having the opportunity to visit this location.

"Powhatan Indian Reservation an Annual Learning Event"

My attending many fall festivals at the Powhatan Renape Nation -- http://www.powhatan.org/
I found it to be a wealth of information -- enlightening the public of their traditional ways and you can learn about wolves and buffalo that are present during the festival. They have a museum that has specific hours and is great to visit. During the festivals they serve up various traditional Indian foods that are setup in tents & huts in a food court like arrangement close to their main kitchen accommodation. They have guided tours & put on different types of shows and dance too. The ancestral village is a really great experience, people local to this area tend to visit year after year and find it a great experience. The Powhatan Renape Nation educates community about their historical ways. The ADMISSION is payable upon entrance $10 for adults, $ 5 for seniors and children 6-12. Children 5 and under are FREE!

"Private School Education"

Bridgeton Pike is located in Mantua, NJ. Bridgeton Pike is an extremely busy road at times. One can hear the traffic passing by this location during all hours of the day. However, Bridgeton Pike has traffic lights to control the traffic flow which helps the children of the area & when exiting the driveway.

This is a good location to live because it is close to all amenities, health services, public transportation, libraries etc…

This vicinity has modest single family homes and it’s a nice place to live for families with children. Not much play area for little kids because of the highly traveled road. But, there is a nice size play area in the rear of this particular home.

The backyard is a nice place to relax and enjoy a small camp fire while chatting with neighbors & friends while having a cold beer. Cookouts are very popular during the summer months and sometimes throughout the year weather permitting!

Mantua Public Schools rank 7 out of 10 but, a lot families send their kids to private schools that are local to the neighborhood. FYI http://www.greatschools.net/city/Mantua/NJ

"Old Mill Crab House a Popular Restaurant in Delmar, DE (2008)"

This establishment offers a very friendly atmosphere and the service is great when you are finally seated.

This place is ALWAYS crowded and folks seem not to mine the wait as the line grows outside. They are typically opened during the summer months daily around 5pm.

Kinda wish this place was larger to provide better accommodation to its patrons and I think they could use more parking for the handicapped.

This is a GREAT family Restaurant and most locals return time after time again!!!

advisor2008 Our Mother’s Day celebration at the Old Mill Crab House was NOTHING to rave about!!! We choose not to do the “CRAB FEAST” but, while looking around at other guests, this must be the ONLY thing that is done well at this eatery.
Our group ordered their Maryland Crab Soup to start with and had to send it back because it was delivered lukewarm; the portion was small and was served in plastic ware and it had some sort of after taste.
When the main entrees arrived, they too, were served up tepid as well, I suspect that most of their fried foods selections were served from food warmers with the exception of the French fries, and they were just ok.
We wondered why folks would stand & wait in line to get chow like this, to give them the benefit of doubt they must do the "STEAMED CRAB" thing right!?!?
As the saying goes, “to each his own” I would not recommend or visit this establishment again -- too overpriced and did not meet our expectations.

Posiusrus Our annual party is held here and my family goes there at least once a month. I love the place and they do a great job of making sure you get what you pay for and no frills. This place is a CRAB HOUSE so don't look for fancy table cloths. It was an old feed mill that was turned into a crab house and got so popular it had to expand and open 7 days a week during the season. This is a family tradition and you can feel good about taking your family there. A best bet if you go out for dinner. The crabs are big and the all you can eat comes with lots of sides. The hush puppies are out of this world!!!

"A Nice Way to Spend a Day!"

PHILLIPS LANDING a state recreation district on the Nanticoke River.

PHILLIPS LANDING ROAD is lined with magnificent newer built homes along the way.

Some property owners have direct access to this body of water from their properties.

A great area to raise a family and an excellent place for nearby communities to go have an enjoyable day with family or friends!!!

"Striking Countryside Location in Laurel, De"

Another fine-looking residential neighborhood possibly zoned agricultural too located in Laurel, Delaware. This street has many fine homes which may not be far from chicken growers. From the aerial details on the map it appears this maybe the case.

However, I suppose there are various tradeoffs to consider when deciding to live in a rural location. After all Delmarva Peninsula is well-known as a huge chicken growers’ region.

The impact of all the chicken waste can be potent, as it washes off the fields and seeps into groundwater and, water is essential to the general public!

FYI-- drinking water in central and southern Delaware is supplied mostly by wells.

"Beautiful country location sandwiched between chicken coops..."

A nice residential /agricultural area located on ONEALS RD in Delaware. There are a number of fine homes on this road among various chicken growers on the street.

However, I suppose that the winds carrying the stench of ammonia can be a bit much if one is not accustom to this type of country living understanding in some parts of Delmarva which is noted as a large chicken growers’ region.

These fine-looking homes in this vicinity perhaps could be affected by nasty side-effects along with runoff and pollution.

The impact of all the chicken waste can be powerful, as it washes off the fields and seeps into groundwater.

"While living on the Eastern Shore of Delmarva it is extremely windy at times."

While living on the Eastern Shore of Delmarva it is extremely windy at times.
The Delmarva Peninsula is a large peninsula on the East Coast of the United States

Essentially every property owner will have to deal with roofing issues sooner or later which is why some homeowners have chosen ‘metal roofing’ as a tentative once in a life time repair.

The two close-up shots of these homes side by side are located on E State St, in Delmar, Delaware. I suspect that the roof replacements were done around the same timeframe.

The flavor of neighborhood is very diverse in its characteristics and is close to all amenities.

"A particularly gorgeous home located in the country..."

A particularly gorgeous home located in the country on Sharptown Rd, / Laurel Rd on Rt. 24 in Laurel, Delaware.

The images taken of this scene does not do it any justice – which is why I attempted to shot it from various locations.

For this reason I probably should consider investing in a wide angle lens!

"On occasion a Backyard Lake during a downpour"

This location in the neighborhood of Mantua is likely to flood due to the creek that flows behind the properties on 1st Ave when it rains heavy. The waters can rise to the level of the back door.
However, the people in this location were friendly and it's close to shopping & other amenities.

"White Horse Pike & Fairmount Ave street sign"

As can be seen this is an untraditional street sign White Horse Pike & Fairmount Ave -- Several municipalities local to Clementon, Berlin & Lindenwold, NJ used this type of street sign makers.

The White Horse Pike is also known as US Route 30 and is heavily traveled. There are many businesses located on this highway too.

Because these signs are positioned at eye level it seems to make it easier to locate unknown roads while driving especially if one is foreign to the area.

"Developers continue to build upscale homes in this vicinity..."

When I lived in Runnemede, NJ at this location it when called the Hartford Arms Apartments and I liked living at both apartments that I had within this community.

It is now called The Meadows at Runnemede.

We had good neighbors during my occupancy. Typically, if there were problems the maintenance department handled the matter in a timely way (usually with the heat).
I enjoyed all the amenities that are associated to this area.

During the timeframe when we lived there, single-family homes were being built across the street in addition to a shopping strip with a major supermarket.

In my recent visit it shows that they continue to build upscale homes in this vicinity.

"An attractive area -- close to every thing! (REPOST)"

Great neighborhood whether your single, a couple, or a family-- this condominium & town house community offers a variety of floor plan designs in each of the units.

The grounds are maintain by the condo association and was kept immaculate throughout every season, especially during the snowy winters.

One major negative observation was that some units appeared to have installation problems which prevented the homeowner from using each room of their property during the winter time. And, if you lived on the upper level the stairwell was extremely cold too.

"Not so super -- Supercenter in DE"

This is the location of the 24-hr Wal-Mart Supercenter located in Seaford, DE.

Although I like the tax-free shopping that Delaware offers this is the Wal-Mart of last resort because of my having to travel 18 miles one way for food shopping they seem never to have the shelves stocked which make it feel like a complete waste of time!

I have gone there at different times and it’s the same scenario.
advisor2008
advisor2008 The WALMART ‘supercenters’ in the Delmarva region are less to be desired. The shelves are NEVER fully stocked. And, each WALMART ‘supercenter’ does not carry every food item that’s available at their other locations. They sell food products that are on the verge of going bad, such as bananas!!! The price has increased tremendously and the food last about a day or 2!!! Most of their produce is not even close to being fresh, try close to bad by the time you get a chance to eat it.
I typically, have to turn this EXPENSIVE FOOD into compost!
I mainly experience these issues at the Seaford Delaware & Salisbury, MD locations.
I have shopped at a lot WALMART SUPERCENTERS from Florida to NJ – while living in The Tampa Bay Area I NEVER experienced this type of situation.
While living in this area I have shopped every Wal-Mart between Seaford, DE, Salisbury & Fruitland MD and they all seem to have slim pickings.
Not only is the food prices increasing almost daily it also cost more to travel to buy it!!!
I have begun to find other places to food shop as WALMART is always eliminating certain food products that are on my shopping list -- I won’t go out of my way to shop there any longer.

"Fine place to live and raise a family..."

Park Blvd is an attractive quiet tree lined street in Moorestown, NJ and fine place to live and raise a family. There are different types of single family homes on Park Blvd. Some are better maintained the others…
In 2005 this city was rated as the best place to live in America by CNN money. Decidedly so, Moorestown, does have fabulous homes in both the newer and historical parts of this beautiful city.
If one has a Moorestown zip code – I discovered that some folk who live there are snobbish.
The superficial appearance is not always what it seems -- every neighborhood has its good & not so good areas in all regions.

While living on Jackson Drive the development at that time was called ‘Spring Hill Apartments’ it is now called Fox Meadow Apartments. At that specific time there were too many drug busts occurrences I lived directly behind the FRONT office building and my car was broken into while stealing valuables from my vehicle.

I would most certainly contact the Maple Shade Police Dept before you make any final decisions on this location!

"A lovely place to live"

Cherry Hill, NJ is considered a very prestigious to live. If the property taxes are an indicator then this must be true!!! Out 100 -- Cherry Hill, NJ is listed #47 for the best places to live. Centrally located close to everything and is outside of Philadelphia, PA. The 08034 zip code is the west side of this self-sufficient town. As a visitor to this location I discovered that it is too close to the railroad tracks!!! But, I suspect as a homeowner in this neighborhood you possibly become immune to the surrounding sounds. I noticed the cell phone coverage is somewhat limited when it comes to certain providers. This area is close to some general services both the police & post office are nearby. There are several drugstores too. The homes in this area are of an older variety.

I believe this development consists of by and large upscale town homes. As a visitor to this location the people in this area seem friendly. This location could be considered a shopper’s delight. There are many fine eateries too!!! There’s a lot to do while residing/visiting in this vicinity.

"Beauty is NOT always what it seems..."

Sherry Lyn Woods is a beautiful development that was built around 1985. This single family home is located on Whiting Street and is a 3 bedroom with 2.5 baths -- This home has a large family room with fireplace, a formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen, basement and two car garage situated on a corner property. This street is typically quiet for the most part. But at times all hell seems to break loose when you least expect even though several law enforcement officers live in the vicinity. There have been many incidents that posed great danger to folks within this attractive neighborhood.
The outwardly appearance is NOT always what it seems.

"Warm hospitality found on this street"

I developed warm relationships with my friends who lived in this humble neighborhood. This was like a 2nd home to me. Since much time has past a lot of changes have taken place throughout the years. It’s been almost 20 years and our friendships are still intact however everyone is now spread apart living their lives in various parts of the county.
There's still more traveling to do!!!

"Too much police activity & limited on street parking…"

After selling my home in FL I stayed with friends until I was able to find a home that suited my needs. My stay in this area was very brief and I am surprised that I choose to write a review for this experience. Though I was grateful to have this as a temporary base to work from while I went out full-time house searching!

"Cecil Community College a pleasant environment for learning"

A pleasant environment for anyone young or older to start your career training experience! Every person I associated with was extremely helpful and encouraging when I attended Cecil Community College. The Career Resource Center along with each professor that I dealt with helped me achieve confidence in the learning process again. Furthermore, I enjoyed everything connected with the various community activities that were held at the college. As an older student I discovered the professors were eager to help every body to succeed. I appreciated and enjoyed being apart of this school's surrounding.

"Unpleasant stay at the Crystal Inn -- North East, MD"

My being a guest at the Crystal Inn in Northeast Maryland 2003 to 2004, I learned while spending time in their reception area that people should most definitely search the Internet for the current going room rates. I saw that when certain people arrived unannounced they were quoted extremely higher prices in order to turn them away.
I lived in an apartment arrangement that had very nice accommodations however the manager at that time was extremely rude towards me as a short term resident. He would actually through away my postal mail that was delivered to this location.
Because of my various guest experiences with this company, I would advise one not to do a walk-in situation again! If possible check the going rates on their website and reserve the room or call ahead to check the room availability and rates—remember to get the representative’ name. You can save a lot of money if you remember these little details!!!
If it was not for a conscientious honest front desk worker I would have never suspected that my mail was being discarded by the acting manager. This particular person was kind enough to have my credit card information DELETED after my stay ended.

"Loved my stay in Clearwater, FL"

This is where my trip to Florida began -- after my arrival I met with the realtor that I communicated with online to start searching for a single-family home. Clearwater is located in Pinellas County and where I eventually ended up buying a home was in Pasco County about 30 miles further north, where the property taxes there very reasonable in comparison. While spending time in Clearwater I discovered some nice lodging and good food. I noticed that there were many homeless persons roaming around and a few begging for money. You most certainly had to lock your car doors each time you left your car unattended even to pump gas as they would come out from any wooded area depending on where the service station was located! And, it’s a good practice NOT to leave anything showing in plain site when you exit your vehicle.

"Beautiful community close to the Gulf of Mexico."

This is a beautiful community located close to the Gulf of Mexico. I visited this neighborhood while house shopping. The realtor who showed me this area purchased a home for him & his wife. Because this area was close to the Gulf I choose to buy in a NO FLOOD zone neighborhood. My concern was the cost of homeowners insurance especially living in the hurricane region.

"A delightful time spent at the beach in Hudson, FL"

As a previous resident of the state of Florida and as a local to this area I enjoyed spending much time at the Hudson Beach, FL location. The beach is quaint and is small but is a wonderful way to pass the time of day. For the most part there always seem to be a lovely breeze coming from the Gulf of Mexico while being close to the waters edge or while sitting under the pavilion that provides protection from the SUN on those extremely HOT days. Most folks come to relax, play cards, read books or just to socialize. The people I met while visiting this location were very friendly and I looked forward to meeting new people whenever the opportunity presented itself. This beach is located on Florida's west coast about 40 miles north of St. Petersburg. It was a joy to have this resource nearby only minutes from my home in Port Richey. The only negative issue that I observed was the limited parking. However, they have CLEAN restrooms accommodations.

"Great place for all generations to see…"

What a terrific spot with magnificent memories of past times. This area has many long trails for hiking with a group, friend, dog or just you walking through the pines enjoying the natural surroundings by yourself. There are many buildings that are open to the pubic for viewing past artifacts. There are various sites & building, there is a Batsto mansion, sawmill, a 19th century ore boat too much to list everything in this review. What a wonderful place to visit should you find yourself in this neck of the woods, no pun intended! I hope you will enjoy the images I captured there during my many visits.

"Own your campsite at your own risk @ INDIAN ACRES"

For many years I owned a property at the year round Indian Acres campground of Chesapeake Bay in Earleville, Md. While living there for about 14 years I contracted to have a house built on what this community called their lots “Fun Steads”. This community existed off annual dues -- the dues included the cost of water and membership to all amenities in the campground. Property taxes are paid to the Cecil County Treasurer and the fee was nominal depending or how many lots an owner owned and the type of permanent structure situated thereon. The Cecil County Commissioners tried to evict the property owners awhile ago and they tried to curtail the owners’ access to their properties. This is a beautiful location but if the county government decides to bring this same issue up in the future – it is NOT worth the investment to deal with this potential ongoing scenario.

The services you get for your dues are:

• 24-Hour Security
• Fishing Ponds
• Boat Ramp & Loading Dock
• Picnic Area & Playground
• Clubhouse
• Pools - Olympic & Children's
• Game Room
• Tennis Courts
• Basketball Court
• Seasonal Activities
• Duck & Goose Hunting Blinds
• Year-round Bathhouses
• Convenience Store
• Beach
• Community Building
• Trash Dumpster Area
• Chesapeake Bay Access

HOWEVER BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Properties can take YEARS to sell and in this type of situation they typically DO NOT appreciate in this type of business deal!!!

"School House Hill Rd in Mehoopany, Pa"

A very beautiful place in the fall! The foliage in this area was absolutely stunning. I visited with a friend & his family that I had not seen for many years. Basically the homes in this particular vicinity are modestly priced.

However, the folks were very friendly and incredibly welcoming! My feelings are it is the people that make the community and worth the while living there.

If you like hilly terrains and cold temperatures during the winter this is a place to live. The property values in this area seemed very reasonable for young families with children or for singles too. I would only recommend this location for retirees if they can deal with the cold temps during winter.

FYI--most homes seem to have at least 2 or 3 heat sources!!!

Like all localities you have both the good & not so good neighborhoods. My overall impression is a great place to visit but not sure I would do it at this stage of life.

However, I would love the opportunity to visit again in near future as long it's not during the winter. ;)

Hope this was an informative review for you.

"Great accommodations especially since gas prices are rising!!!"

Great accommodations especially since gas prices are increasing!!!

My Florida home ownership in the Jasmine Lakes Community was short lived. While there I enjoyed all of the convenient amenities that were just minutes away from shopping, restaurants, hospitals, medical services and government agencies. Major airports located in Tampa & St. Petersburg.

This neighborhood was mainly for the retired folks however when I lived there-- there were a lot of smaller families moving into this area.

The typical home is between 2 or 3 bedrooms with either 1 or 2 full baths. Most of the construction is block. And, as for me, the added value was that this was a NO FLOOD zone neighborhood which meant the homeowners’ insurance policy was reasonable during my occupancy.

As far as PEST goes—make sure you KEEP UP with the TERMITES by hiring a good exterminator!!! And, make sure you learn more about sinkholes while living in PASCO COUNTY.

Hope this was and informative review for you.

"Sharptown Quiet Country Living – Close to DE TAX FREE SHOPPING!!!"

This rural family neighborhood is located about 38 miles West of Ocean City, MD for those year round getaways to the beach--a lot of the fine eateries stay opened after the summer season ends & when the vacationers / weekend worriers return back home -- this lends for a nice opportunity to enjoy the fine restaurants without the crowds that tends occur during the summer!

Each year during the month of August a Sharptown Fireman’s Carnival takes place & they serve up delicious traditional oyster fritter sandwiches along with many other tasty treats that all the locals to this area look forward to.
If you are into off-road ATV riding there’s plenty of open space to explore and have fun. And for families with kids and animals there are nice backyards to play in. There is a county managed playground park too for playing ball or having cookouts with family & friends.
The roads in this community are maintained by the county and water supplies come from well(s). Area wired for cable High Speed Internet services.
Reasonable property taxes are an additional value while living in Sharptown, MD.
