"Quiet street in an often overlooked neighborhood"

Merced Avenue is a quiet, well-maintained residential street in the south of the city, nestled in the middle of the secluded Forest Hill neighborhood. The street is completely residential, and almost everything is single family homes, from middle-class residences to large mansion-like structures. The street is always clean and quiet, and there are mostly families living along its length, with children of many different ages. Despite its appearance Merced is actually quite close to transportation, being close to several main streets (but not close enough to hear traffic or related noise) and only a few blocks away from Forest Hill Station, a public transportation hub. There are a few restaurants and a corner store a block over, and a roughly ten minute walk away is the commercial street of West Portal, with a variety of restaurants (include the legendary West Portal Sub sandwich place), a movie theater, and some boutique shopping.

"Exciting street with a vast variety of amenities and people"

Clayton Street is a short residential street that extends from the University of San Francisco in the North until it merges into Market Street in the south. It runs through one of the cities' most storied districts, Haight Ashbury, and passes through the heart of Haight Street itself. This means that it is adjacent to an incredible variety of great dining options, with dozens of differents restaurants and cuisines both on Haight Street and to the south in the adjacent neighborhood of Cole Valley. You can have great shopping in the thrift stores and boutiques of Haight, and it even has its own local grocery stores (of very high quality). There is teeming nightlife on Haight St. as well, with a bar (Hobson's Choice) on the very intersection of Clayton and Haight. Away from Haight St. Clayton is mostly quiet and residential, with largely beautiful single-family homes, but close to Haight there are a mix of apartment buildings, houses and flats. The blocks adjacent to Haight can get quite loud at night and it is is advised to sleep in rooms that do not face the street. Clayton runs by a great dog park and the beautiful lookout of Tank Hill to the south of Haight, as well as passing directly through the famous Panhandle park to the north, with a good jogging/walking trail, a playground for kids and basketball courts. The 43 and 71 bus lines, among others, stop on Haight and Clayton, and the N Judah stops close by in nearby Cole Valley.
