"Huron Pointe, a water wonderland neighborhood!"

The Huron Pointe area of Harrison Twp, Michigan is located just about as far east in Michigan as you can go without getting into Lake St Clair.

The neighborhood is officially known as the "St Clair Haven Subdivision" and contains about 900 waterfront homes with about 150 fronting directly on Lk Saint Clair and the remaining 750 on canals leading directly to the Lake.

Our neighborhood is accessed by traveling east on South River Road, a penninslua, about 1 mile east of Jefferson Ave, and one mile north of Metro Parkway (16 mile rd).

By boat, the canal system is accessed via the Black Creek which is about 2 miles south of the Clinton River.

Although Huron Pointe is listed as a street on this web site, my comments are meant to include the entire area known as "Huron Pointe" which includes about 9 streets total within the subdivision.

Compared to Metro Detroit as a whole, this area has a very low traffic volume due to it's geographic nature as a penninsula. You can't pass through this area to get anywhere else, unless it's by boat.

As part of the Great Lakes, you can go by water to the St Lawrence Seaway, or Erie Canal to the Hudson River and out to the Atlantic Ocean. Many of our neighbors have actually traveled from their homes by boat to various oceans around the world.

Our surrounding community of Harrison Township also has very little traffic due to its overall geographic nature. Selfrige Air National Guard Base limits travel through Harrison Township to the North, and again, Lake St Clair limits travel to the East.

Our community also enjoys the benefits of the renowned L'anse Cruese School System, a very low crime rate, and relatively low tax rates as well.

Bedroom communities are usually described as places where people leave to go to work and come home to for rest. I would go a step further and describe the Huron Pointe area of Harrison Township as more of a "Cottage Community", that being a place people come to recreate.

The waterfront lifestyle is like being on vacation all year long. Even during the winter months, the lake offers great opportunities for ice fishing, snowmobiling, and ice boating.

During the summer, the waterfront restaurants really get going as additional boating enthusiastists populate the various marinas in our area.

Our community has miles of bike/hike trails and also is host to one of the best metro parks in the state, that being Metropolitan Beach Metropark.

Lake St Clair is a fresh water lake with plenty of great fishing. The water warms up nicely during June and stays swimmable well into September.

As a lifelong resident and a 30+ year real estate broker in the area, I highly recommend this area as one of the best places to live in Michigan.

We're only a few miles from major expressways with access to downtown Detroit just about a 30 minute drive.

Canada is just across the lake by boat, or via car through downtown Detroit to our South or the Blue Water bridge in Port Huron about 45 minutes to our North.

The Huron Pointe neighborhood holds an annual garage sale. This year it will be on June 1,2 & 3 of 2007. Since there's about 900 homes in our immediate subdivision, and almost everyone is a boater, you can find anything to do with boating at this event, at rediculously low prices.

GordonBaglaj Just last night, (March 29, 2007) our Harrison Township board voted to purchase 155 acres of undeveloped land between Jefferson and Metro Parkway. The purpose is to preserve it for future park/wetland and or simply to prevent additional development at this site.
