Within University City, I would recommend Powelton Village. Regardless of its proximity to the hustle & bustle of University City, it is a quaint neighborhood with tons of spots for late-night eating during a long study session. The area is beautiful and close to all Universities & College Institutions within the vicinity. Also, public transportation to get you to all neighborhoods in the city for classes, part-time gigs, etc.

University City is arguably the best place to live for students, especially those attending Drexel or Penn. Some Temple students will live in University City or Powelton Village as well. However, since Temple is fairly far from University City, Temple student generally live in areas like Chinatown, Fishtown, Northern Liberties and NE Philly. Many students also live in areas like Manayunk or East Falls and take the train into the city for school.
