Should any parts of Tribeca in New York City be avoided more than others?

All of Tribeca is perfectly fine as far as safety goes. It's a really nice neighborhood. I would just avoid Canal and 6th Avenue area because there are too many people. It's impossible to catch a cab, windy, you get bumped around, etc. Plus, I think a lot of petty theft happens there because of the condensed crowd.
