"An eastern neighborhood in Aurora near lots of open space"

Tollgate Crossing is a neighborhood in eastern Aurora that has a lot of businesses on the main roads, but is close to open spaces giving this area a much more open feel than many of the other neighborhoods in Aurora. Many of the homes are single family, but there are also condominiums and apartments. Some of the businesses in this neighborhood are fast food restaurants, traditional sit down restaurants, an asian market, gas and convenience stores, an auto repair shop, and others. Having some of these businesses in the area makes it convenient for neighbors to not have to travel far, but if they do need more options many are close by. Also, there aren't any medical facilities here but there are some very good hospitals not too far away.

Tollgate Crossing has the added benefit of being located close to access for both I-70 to the north and the tollway to the east. Within the neighborhood the streets aren't too busy, but on the main outer roads such as Buckley Road, Alameda Pkwy, and Mississippi Avenue they can get a little crowded during peak times, but it's not as bad as many areas as the neighborhood lies so far east.

The homes in this neighborhood cost in the high $100,000 to mid $250,000 range. For the most part they are all nice looking with yards that are tended and neat. Overall the City of Aurora does a pretty good job of snow removal in this area on the major roads, and an okay job on the side streets during the winter.

Noise in this area comes from a little bit of traffic and also Buckley Air Force Base which is directly east of the neighborhood. On any given day you can see and hear fighter jets flying overhead. While this noise may bother some people (they can be loud), I think it's pretty cool to watch them so it wouldn't bother me. Actually, when I'm in this neck of the woods I usually pull over and get out to watch them. I have never seen or heard them at night, so sleeping here shouldn't be a problem.

I would recommend this neighborhood to families or professionals who need a quick drive to a highway or tollway.
