As mentioned above, you won't find any museums in Stormville proper, but Dutchess County is filed with historic landmarks. For instance, Hyde Park is the hometown of our 32nd President, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and you can visit the Mansion there, as well as Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill cottage. There's the famous Dia contemporary art museum in the nearby city of Beacon. The popular city of Poughkeepsie has the Children's Museum and the Samuel Morse homestead known as Locust Grove, which also has a beautiful garden. Fishkill is home to the Van Wyck Homestead, a well-preserved old colonial home.

There are no museums in Stormville, but there are some historical markers. At the corner of Routes 52 and 216 here, the marker there regards Sibyl Ludington, a young American revolutionary hero. She rode down the previous road on that spot and all around this area in 1777 to alert her father's regiment that the British Army was taking Danbury, Connecticut. You may see a few things, such as a road, named after Ludington in this area of New York.
Another historical marker in town denotes that it was settled in 1730 and named after Isaac Storm.
