Where is the best place to live on the southern gulf coast for a small town/country couple?

not high-traffic, away from tourist traps, clean beaches, living on the beach, low crime rate, driving distance to night life, reduced risk of gators and sinkholes, shopping/antique malls, clear water creeks/lakes for recreation
