Kristin - I think it depends on what you're looking for. If it's a bar scene and great restaurants, then Crocus Hill with close proximity to Grand Avenue are the place to be. A great neighborhood with tons of character too in the housing options. Close proximity to light rail and affordable housing for first time home buyers? Try Hamline-Midway. We're already seeing shops and dining options springing up along the light rail corridor (it's a little East, but if you haven't tried iPho it's a must!). If it's time to start a family, then you can't go wrong with either of those BUT Merriam Park is my favorite! Great housing and schools, Izzy's to celebrate with the kids, Kopplin's to get away from them (those moments do occur), and Choo Choo Bob's when you've run out of things to do at home. There's a neighborhood for everyone in St. Paul!
