"Colonial Concord - A city with rich history"

Historic Concord is the area in Concord Massachusetts known by locals as the center. A visitor in Concord will likely explore a lot of the attractions in Historic Concord, but they will inevitably spend most of their time outside of Historic Concord. Street Advisor classifies Historic Concord as a very small area but in reality, Concord is not the type of town in which tourists walk everywhere they go. Attractions in Concord have spread far apart and a good amount of the local hangouts are not even in the town boundaries. In Concord, driving from one attraction to the next may take longer than some visitors are used to but the scenery on the way is enjoyable. Along the roads in Concord, there are beautiful fields, trees, and impressive, old houses. Because of how nice the roads are, biking is a very popular weekend pastime for residents. The best time of year to visit Concord is around fall when the leaves are changing. People in Concord enjoy this time of year because of the foliage tours around the town. If you are planning a trip to Concord, make sure you see the foliage either on a tour or simply by walking or biking. Other popular attractions for Concord tourists are Walden Pond, The Battle Road Trail, and Concord Museum. Walden Pond is a popular place in the summer because it is a swimming pond. Visiting tourists would also be advised to see the old site of Henry David Thoreaus cabin which was in the woods by Walden Pond. Admittedly the site of the cabin is exceptionally uninteresting, but if you are going to swim in the pond theres no reason to miss the site of the cabin. The Battle Road Trail is a biking or walking trail in Concord. It is a short bike ride but it is a very beautiful trip. Along the trail, there are many signs to read or houses to visit where there is information about the revolutionary war. The ride is both fun and educational, so it is a great way to spend time in Concord. As for the Concord Museum, it also has a lot of information about the revolution and some interesting artifacts. Concord is a town that is very proud of its history so for a visitor, there can be a lot to learn about the American Revolution. A few other things to do in Concord include: canoeing or kayaking on the Concord river, seeing the historic houses, visiting Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, viewing Monument Square, taking a walking tour of the center of town, exploring Minuteman National Historic Park, or shopping in West Concord. Concord also has a few restaurants to eat at, but they are really nothing special. A piece of commonly used local slang would be vermin. Vermin, when used by locals refers to bikers on the side of the road. Bikers are very common in the warmer seasons in Concord, and they are considered a pest by many drivers in the area. An example sentence of how this slang is used would be, Wow! the vermin are really out in force today! Referring to a nice day when there are many road bikers.
