"Moved here in 2019 and love it!"

Canton is a vast community with a smaller population but it is growing quickly. Located in Cherokee County, it is one of the northernmost counties considered to be part of the Atlanta Metro Area. Downtown Canton provides a quaint small town feel and has fantastic restaurants and small privately owned shops to stroll through along with holiday celebrations and community events throughout the year. The City of Canton is currently working on developing the downtown area into a vibrant social and economic scene without sacrificing the small town vibe that residents love. There are many large subdivisions with amenities and rural areas and homes with acreage in Canton. The schools are hit or miss, so do your due diligence to see which ones may be a good match for your needs. Canton is full of parks, paved walking trails, hiking & mountain biking trails and the Etowah River runs through Canton providing additional beauty and recreation opportunities. We have Walmart, Target, Publix, Kroger, Ingles, Walgreens, CVS, Best Buy, Petsmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kohl's, Home Depot, Lowe's. No issues with most stores but we only have an Aldi and could really use a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. There is a Sprouts located in the next city south, Woodstock. Safety can be hit or miss no matter where you live, but relative to most other cities, Canton has a very low crime rate. Mostly burglary/theft, which is everywhere. Night life - not much to speak of in Canton other than dining out. We are about 45 minutes from Atlanta, so we have easy access to major concerts & performances, museums, night clubs, etc... The Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport is a 1 hour drive. The people in Canton are very polite and we have a great community feel here. We are also located right in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains so you can go river tubing, white water rafting, zip lining, apple picking and winery touring all about 1-1.5 hours away. The change of seasons is wonderful here as well. This is a great place to raise children. Oh, and traffic is a breeze!
