"Salt Creek is a neighborhood/region west of Pueblo & south of HW 50"

Salt Creek is a neighborhood west of Pueblo that is primarily Hispanic. The average income is about $30,000 a year and the area's properties are affordable and many are big homes with extra ranch buildings and large lots. Somewhat of a ranchette place out in the flat plains west of Pueblo, but there are creeks and highways in and around the area. Highway 50 marks the northern boundary of the Salt Creek area.

"A tiny town just southeast of Pueblo"

Salt Creek, Colorado is home to only 587 people. Many people wouldn't realize this area is it's own town since it is barely over two miles from Pueblo. While you can find some Evergreen trees here, there is also a lot of sagebrush and open fields. Families living in Salt Creek send their children to public schools which are in Pueblo. These schools typically rate average to just above when it comes to state testing standards for Colorado. The town is primarily Hispanic, with over 86% of residents being this. Hispanics are followed by whites, and then American Indians.

The median household income for Salt Creek is $23,827, which is over $30,000 less than the state average. Homes here are also much lower priced and you can get a median priced home for around $101,621 which is also well below the median average for Colorado. Many of the residents here work in construction and the retail trade.

While there isn't much to Salt Creek, it has an aura about it that seems as if you're looking back into the old west. Although the homes are newer, the landscape seems as if it's been the same for hundreds of years. You can almost picture a cattle drive heading through town to the nearby Arkansas River. It's peaceful and quiet and I can imagine the younger children living here have a great time exploring their surroundings.
