Yes. According to the latest crime rates, every major category is below New York and national averages. The burglary rate, for example, is right around the NYS average, which is probably a little higher than I'd have expected, but the state average is well below national, so it's nothing to worry about. Murder risk is extremely low, and other violent crime rates are well within acceptable ranges.
Pine Plains is kind of a sleepy town; not one where you'd envision a lot of crime and also not one where you'd walk around and feel unsafe. There's a lot of good things about this town, and its crime rates are one of them.
