How often does Pawling (or the area) experience earthquakes?

I know that in Putnam County down near Carmel they have happened in the past; do they create anything more than a minor nuisance here? Are they felt here?

Earthquakes are not terribly common in Pawling or surrounding area. I don't think you'll really need to worry about earthquakes destroying your home or property.

Rarely, and they haven’t done much damage. Pawling’s last earthquake occurred 7/24/2007, 76.9 miles away from the city center, and was a magnitude 3.1. Pawling’s earthquake activity is about on par with the rest of New York State, which is 89% smaller than the U.S. average.
