North Park Hillcrest or Crown Point?

My boyfriend and I are moving to San Diego, we want to live in PB. He found an amazing house in north park for$ 2100.. (is that a good price for that area?) We are 23 and 24, One of us is a bartender in Gaslamp and the other is going to start a professional career. I would like to like closer to the beach but if North Park is a young vibrant community with lots of culture, shopping, bars and things to do I wouldn't mind living in North Park. Doing some research online I would love to live near crown point. Any input would be appreciated!
