What are the schools like in Outer Richmond, SF?

I'm not sure if you meant schools for younger kids or older. The high school is George Washington High and I was just looking over their test scores--it looks like they get slightly above average marks on standardized tests, not across the board but on most things. (Apparently though, there has been a bit of a drop off in scores in the last year or two--it is not clear why or if is just an anomaly.)

My understanding is the school doesn't really have gang problems and the administration does a good job of maintaining discipline without going overboard.

It is also a really diverse student body--as you would expect given the cosmopolitan mix of East Asians and Russians nearby. So your kid would definitely have great exposure to all sorts of people and languages--which I think is a great learning opportunity in itself.
