See a Jewel of a Cultural Scene

In case you did not know, The Museum of the City of New York, at 1220 Fifth Ave and 103rd St has been referred to as the jewel of New York's cultural scene. When you go there and take a look, you'll discover why. You will find a vast array of learning opportunities including interpretation of New York's rich political, social, intellectual, artistic, and cultural heritages.

The biggest attraction for many has been the planetarium. Why not call 212-534-1672 or visit their website at www.mcny.org for more info.

I've been there now and then. Wouldn't call it a jewel compared to, say, the Met or even the Frick, but it's certainly an informative and historical look at our city's past. They also host great children's events and parties - I went to the Halloween event there when I was a wee one and was so excited to meet Ms. Frizzle of Magic School Bus fame!

Yeah, people have their perceptions. I liked it when I saw the place. It is according to taste and what you like and don't like.
