NYC Comfort Food

So, you've had a bad day, you're stressed, you had a fight with your best friend, boss, boyfriend, lover, you name it! What dish cheers you up?

For my mother, it's an extra rare cheeseburger, glass of house wine, and slice of meringue pie our local diner.
For me, it's a turkey-mustard-apple-watercress-and-brie wrap made specially from our local French deli, or a huge plate of linguine with chicken and broccoli in red sauce at the aforementioned diner.

What about you guys?

I prefer a dish of yogust with fruit on top. This is my favorite food.

A bad day brings me to the soul food buffet on Broadway between Ellery and Park in Brooklyn... I always refer to it as, well, the "soul food buffet," as do most people I know - but it actually has another name apparently. Anyway, it's pretty well-known among the Williamsbush locals, but it's hit-and-miss. Having been there pretty often I know what not to get - ie, the mac n cheese.

I tend to lose my appetite when I have had a stressful/bad day but sometimes do indulge in a glass or two of prosecco to somewhat banish the blues...
