No Bathrooms in Apartments

Has anyone seen the news recently? According to NY1, a number of tenants in Washington Heights has been without a bathroom for a long time. They went to court over it and are finally getting some action done.

That's crazy! Sometimes it seems like landlords can get away with everything and anything in this city

I know. Isn't it. Sometimes I would like to find a way to burn bad landlords like that. At least the tenants went to court and are getting help.

It's a pity there aren't stricter regulations in place, or at least a channel by which tenants (who may not have the resources/etc to get a lawyer, or might not even be English-speaking) can get help and advice without so many bureaucratic obstacles!

@hhusted that's just awful...I can't imagine not being able to use the bathroom in my apartment ..really something needs to be done about these horrible NYC landlords who prey on the poor and the weak. Dont they have a conscience at all?

It's hard enough sharing with three roommates - but having to go to an abandoned apt? Why not just move the families into the apartments with working bathrooms.
