MetroCard Hike Is Possible

I read today on NY1 that the MTA is thinking about raising the rates on MetroCards. They are going to convene next week to discuss the idea of raising rates and firing a bunch of booth attendants.

Read the entire story here:

If the MTA approves the hikes and layoffs, we will have to dig deeper into our pocketbook to pay to buy the cards.

This is getting absolutely ridiculous. I am actually moving into Manhattan next month because the cost will even out when I take into account how often I have to take taxis back to Brooklyn because the L just decided to stop running. What the crap are we even paying for?

Bloody heck - that's ridiculous! Can't the MTA just get it together already; it's not that hard to balance a budget!
