M Train Riders Look Out

As you know, MTA decided after a 11-2 vote to cut services to meet a 800 million budget deficient. By doing so they will cut the M train service.

To see how cutting the M train service will affect you, go here:

I believe those in lower Manhattan and the southern parts of Brooklyn will suffer the most.

@hhusted there seems to a whole host of cuts, actually the V train is going to be eliminated and the M is going to run on the V's route. The W train is also going to be cut and all this is going to increase crowding on the other lines. I personally hardly use the V or the W so don't think I will be greatly affected but its bound to be difficult for those folk who use these lines regularly.

@ajadedidealist Saw a whole news segment on the MTA troubles last night seems that they have lost $143 million in state funding and have huge gaps in their budgets so have no choice but to go ahead with the cuts and fare hikes. Bloomberg actually went on to say that Jay Walder the head of the MTA had actually done a good job and if it was not for him the cuts would be much worse!!!! The MTA seems to be a bottomless pit which is ready to swallow any amount of money.

@Uptowngirl: Jay and Mike are close friends. So it would be obvious that Mr. Bloomberg would say that about him. You are right about the cuts. Not only did MTA lose money from Albany, but the city is no longer supporting them either. There is no money in the NYC budget to help MTA. So MTA is on their own. Do you see why they are cutting services and raising fees. I still think if they did away with half of the top brass, they would have enough of a surplus to not make any cuts.
