Is Washington an affordable area?

Based on what I know of it, not for the average person. Washington is a wealthy town. The mean household income is $14k higher than the New York state average and the median property tax paid here is almost $4,000. Poverty rates are quite low in general as well. This is a place where you might see some pretty well-to-do people.
