As far as festivals go, the only thing I could find that resembles one is the Oktoberfest that they have here in Washington. There are other activities here, like youth sports and other seasonal events like Easter egg hunts.
There's at least one farmer's market here in Millbrook, appropriately named the Millbrook Farmers' Market. It's open from May to October and it seems to draw in a pretty good crowd.
Washington definitely has some outdoorsy things to do, in addition to the things mentioned (sports, farm markets, etc.), also including horseback riding. I'd say the community does take a general interest in them, yes.
