Literary New York

Okay, go ahead and send me your best literary lore about the city. We already know people like Poe, Dylan, Ginsburg, Salinger, and a whole slew of wannabes and hangers-on frequented and made famous certain locales. So I wan the names of PLACES and why they're literarily noteworthy.

The Algonquin Hotel - once a second home to Dorothy Parker, Peter Benchley, and other literary impresarios of the Algonquin Round Table.

Edgar's Cafe - off 84th and Broadway - overpriced and not that good, BUT the location where Poe finished The Raven.
