It depends on your budget and interests. If you have a family the Valley neighborhoods are well-suited. If you have a lot of money to spend Santa Monica is nice. There are so many options in LA. It's a great place to live.

If you want a safe, nice community check out Glendale and Burbank.

Santa Monica offers great schools, a high walk-score rating for most neighborhoods and a fairly wide price range for housing. Close proximity to LAX makes it a desirable location for those who have to travel frequently for business.

If you are looking for great schools, safe, clean neighborhoods, and lots of sport activities, Palos Verdes Peninsula is a great place to live. It's expensive, but beautiful.
