Is East Los Angeles the same at Guadelupe Arizona in Maricopa County?

I was in Guadelupe Arizona and it looked the same as east la but nothing happened to me. By the way every now or so often I see what might be gang members with all the tattoos and bandanas on. So if you aren't involved in it then most likely they won't bother you. I know rare times it happens. I saw one in east Palo Alto Ca. I will be taking public transportation too when I move to Los Angeles. I heard it's a whole different world and the media blows it out to be big.

I guess that is generally true--especially for violent crime. If you don't look like a gang-member you probably won't be hassled too much--unless you look like an easy mark (dressed in really nice suit or flashing a lot of bling). But there are other hassles too, such as occasional break-ins to cars and homes, police actions and the slight feeling of random danger.

Also, LA is pretty spread out, so if you are planning on taking public transportation you should make sure that you can get where you want to go in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes all the RTD transfers and all the rest of it make it impractical even when it doesn't seem that far away.

Anyway, good luck!
