Katonah is a hamlet of wonderful friendly one of a kind shops - including our hardware stores. Right on the original six roads there is Kelloggs & Lawrence on The Parkway and on Katonah Avenue - right next to my Houlihan Lawrence office is Katonah Paint & Hardware.
Kelloggs & Lawrence is a store where you can enjoy a peanut from their peanut barrel and also find custom mailboxes, rope hammocks, Adirondack chairs and country clothing. They also have a wonderful Fireplace Accessory shop. Here is the article which I wrote about their history: www.guidemehome2westchester.com/2010/1/20/did-you-know-fun-facts-about-the-town-of-bedford-kelloggs-lawrence-hardware-katonah-new-york
Katonah Hardware is a nuts and bolts hardware store but also has a beautiful showroom for decorative hardware. They also work with fine decorating artisans.
They both have great items at their front counters for party favors or stocking stuffers. They have retro items that make great gifts.
Walk into these stores with a problem to solve and they will personally help you with it!

There are several Home Depots scattered throughout the county (Hawthorne, Yonkers, Mohegan Lake, New Rochelle and Port Chester). If you are looking for a true hardware store, head straight to Hawthorne to a wonderful shop called Bergers. They are widely stocked with a staff that is incredibly knowledgeable, highly dedicated, and always willing to help. I've come to rely on their recommendations and they take the time to explain how to do a job right.
