"Bad street with good areas."

Overall East St John Street is very unsavory, loud, crude, dangerous... ghetto feeling, but the end towards 1st Street is greatly improved. That end runs beside a very nice park and is close to fine dining, shopping and entertainment of the safer part of the downtown area. If you are having to travel the length of this street, be sure you have your windows up and doors locked.
