What New York City neighborhoods are similar to East Harlem? I am looking to move to New York City soon.

There aren't really any neighborhoods similar to East Harlem in Manhattan. In some parts, (directly on the Upper East Side) it resembles the Upper East Side. Other parts look kind of like Bushwick in Brooklyn. It's a very diverse and very large part of town. I'm not really a huge fan of East Harlem. It seems kind of dirty to me, so I guess in that way, it's like Midtown. Energetically, I know there are a lot of salsa dancing clubs in Spanish Harlem but the nightlife scene isn't fantastic. Cheap apartments though and some of them are large and lovely.
