132st and 5th Ave (is it East Harlem still?) Safe or not?

I'm a transexual woman (very passable) however i fear for my safety still due to rumors but i love the property and street view from my apt. Im a hair stylist and will be commuting from 9am to 7 or 8pm will i be safe any body familiar with this area first time in the city im excited (moving from queens)
