Old North Boulder technically sits between Alpine and Iris, and Folsom and Broadway. The area is a mix of older homes and updated homes surrounded by lush mature trees. The south side of Old North Boulder is close, like just over a half mile from the main downtown strip of Pearl Street. Also less than a mile is the beautiful North Boulder Park, North Boulder Recreation Center and Boulder Community Hospital. Ideal Market which is a really cool grocery store owned by Whole Foods serves the area and has all kinds of “Boulder-friendly” food choices. The area offers all the benefits of living close to downtown but is a bit out of the way of the college kids running about around the university.

Old N Boulder remains rural in nature, even though their are new shops, restaurants, etc. The lots are usually larger giving that room to move feeling not so tight to neighbors.

Hey BroncoFan,
I have lived in Boulder for almost a decade, and have lived in North Boulder for the last few years and I think it is one of the best areas of town. For accessibility, it is near Diagonal Highway, Foothills parkway, 28th st, and only 14 miles from Lyons, a fun little foothills community. All the local shops and facilities you could need (except for my favorite eatery, Illegal Petes) are only walking distance, as are many bike paths, Sale Lake, short bike to wonderland lake, Boulder Reservoir and the surrounding nature and running trails. It is quiet, comfortable and reasonably affordable. Check out Agave for really delicious Molcajete dishes
