I heard that Boulder gets a lot of snow, but is it really in the mountains?

Boulder certainly gets snow, but the beauty of Boulder is it also gets sun. The big debate one has to have after a storm is should I break out the shovel or not. In most cases the sun will come out and the snow will be melted the next day.

Boulder can get some large snowfalls, 6" - 8" +, but not very often. Boulder is not in the mountains though, it is in the plains, however it does abut the foothills and offers very close and easy access to the mountains without the winter long snow on the ground.
