Is the Atlantic Station area of Atlanta family friendly?

No, not so much. This entire area is mostly based around retail shops and restaurants. There are not a lot of amenities for children. There are some live work spaces available, and there are also a few apartments and town homes nearby. Because of that, there is always lots of traffic. This neighborhood is probably best for single young professionals, or college students who can afford it. You might want to try some areas of Buckhead (if you want to be close to the city living and enjoy the luxury of nice single family homes).
