Rental Property on W 180th ST

Inquiring about this rental property in Washington Heights. Is this a safe neighborhood? We will be traveling with children.

Ehhh, not really. Once you get past Columbia University (110th street) on the West side, it gets pretty sketchy. And, public transportation is bad, conveniences like grocery stores aren't that accessible, and the bar and restaurant scene is pretty abysmal. This means there aren't a lot of people on the street which makes it a danger zone, in my opinion. Yes you will get more space for your dollar and there's more green in Washington Heights, but the higher north you go in Manhattan after the park, the scarier it gets. I wouldn't live in Washington Heights. It's not only kind of sketchy, it's depressing.
