Living in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco - whats it like?

Living in the Visitacion Valley neighborhood of San Francisco is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, you have lower rents for the most part. And you are a bit outside of the main action in SF.

However, you're right on the border with the Bayview/Hunter's Point neighbors, so crime is definitely a worry when living here. In addition, many of the homes are a bit rundown and the neighborhood definitely looks like it dates back more than 50 years.
