There's an excellent book, "Peekskill in the American Revolution", by Emma L. Patterson, which has numerous citations regarding Verplanck. Local Westchester public libraries have 26 copies of the book available. Or just google "verplanck's point revolutionary war". There's plenty of stuff there too.
