"Lovely Indian Village Street"

Iroquois Street is located in Indian Village on the east side of Detroit, not to far from the Detroit River. The homes have beautiful and unique architecture. Given that it is surrounded by inner city Detroit, there is an organized neighborhood watch and neighbors tend to know one another. You are a bike ride away from Belle Island, an island park on the Detroit River, where it is also fun to watch the freighters go by. The neighborhood could use more food and clothing stores, but these can be found in surrounding communities. If you own a boat, there are a number of marinas nearby, where you can enjoy sailing on the river after work.

"Peaceful, urban living"

Lamphere Street is located on the far west side of Detroit, crossing Tireman. It is near the community of Dearborn Heights. Many Detroit police and fire fighters live in the area. This is a working class area. The houses are well-kept and the people friendly. Kids can ride their bikes to Rouge Park and Hines Park, which have bike trails. Bus transportation is within walking distance. You are a short drive away from Fairlane Mall, Henry Ford Museum, and Greenfield Village. It's a nice area for raising a family and enjoying friends and neighbors.

"Urban living great for singles"

West Nevada is a street near the north border of Detroit, which intersects with Woodward, one of Detroit's main streets. This neighborhood has lots of resources nearby -- restaurants, bus transportation, but has lost its grandeur. It was previously an ethnic area, which tolerated a nearby gay community. It is down the street from a major Detroit park, but one has to be cautious due to the number of break-ins and assaults in the area. Good area for urban singles who are dedicated to living and improving Detroit.

"No way, no how"

Iliad Street is located on the northwest side of Detroit. The houses were built on a flood plain so watch out for the 100-year flood. We happened to have lived on the street when there was a big flood. We thought it would be nice to border the river and park, but the area is mosquito-infested. We had two double-murders in the few years we lived in the area. Not a good place to raise children. I do not recommend living on the street.

"Nice for beginner home"

Grayfield Street is located on the west side of Detroit in a working class neighborhood. Many of the people in the area work for the Detroit Fire or Police Departments and have young families. There are several parks nearby and shopping malls within 10-15 miles. It’s a nice street for your first home.
