"Town in the valley."

El Cajon is an affordable option to the higher cost of living in San Diego city. It is just a short 15 min trip on the freeway to downtown San Diego and the Beaches area and 3 trolley stations you really stay connected to the rest of the city.
There are a good number of parks which are well maintained and clean.
Downtown El Cajon hosts a cruise night for classic cars on wednesday's and free music performances on friday's throughout the summer.
Shopping is good with Parkway Plaza Mall located here. Rents are cheap but watch out for those traffic tickets. Red light cameras and vehicle impounds are commonplace here.
