"As Busy as it Gets"

Water street is what I would say is "As busy as it gets". If there is a hotspot in downtown Milwaukee Water Street is it. There are bars and clubs for your weekend nights. There is the theatre for the artistically inclined. You are close to the arenas for sports entertainment. Everything is within walking distance.

Atmosphere is generally good and fun.

"Take Me Out To the Ballgame!"

OK so the Brewers aren't the best Major League Baseball team but Miller Park is a must see!

Miller Park with is retractable roof is a architectural must see. The baseball park is very clean and well kept. Family, freinds, and fun with a good ole baseball game. The prices are fair and it is a good time for all.

The surrounding area to Miller Park is people friendly. A few resturants and few bars. Good for local fun and get togethers. Nice place to spend you Saturday or Sunday.

"Fabulous Ethnic Resturants"

If you're looking for a great night out with friends or a significant other this is a great area. 5th and National has several authentic resturants. My two personal favorites is Las Botanas and La Perla. The food is absolutely wonderful! La Perla has over 100 Margaritas.

I would recommend La Perla for dates or with friends. Very busy and engaged environment. Children questionable.

Las Botanas I would recommend to all groups (children included). More relaxed environment and more family oriented.

Before you go...make reservations or plan to wait. Neighborhood isn't the best but not the worst either.

Enjoy your food!

"Shop Eat and Shop Some More"

27th Street is more commercial than residential. There are resturants up and down the street regardless if you are looking for. There are activities such as bowling, miniature golf, and parks for everyone. There are several car dealerships and is a relatively business environment. There are all of the general needs stores on 27th St. (Walmart, K-Mart, Target, etc.)

The are many smaller strip malls with all kinds of specialized boutiques to meet anyone's shopping needs. Great place to go if you're looking for something to do.

"Airport Awareness Adventure"

At this particular point on Layton Avenue is what I would consider the Airport Awareness Adventure.

There is a parking lott that you can park and watch the airplane arrive and take off at the Milwaukee International Airport. The planes literally fly right over your head. You can tune in to an AM radio station and listen to traffic control. It is amazing.

If you have littler ones who don't have the attention span there is a cute little park across the street on top of a hill. The children can swing, climb, and play and you can still enjoy the scenery.

Just down the street a block or two in Amelia's Resturant. The have inside and outside seating. It is decorated with the air theme (as you can probably tell by the name). This is a great place for family or a night out with your someone special. This is a place for fun with great atmosphere.

"Historical Bayview Community"

Kinnickinnic Ave goes the heart of Bayview.

The people of this neighborhood may have a zip code that says Milwaukee but if you live here you are from Bayview. Bayview does not show on any map but is in the hearts of this well knit community.

There are many historical buildings here from the homes to the churches. many have spent time and money rebuilding the beauty of our history in this area. If you drive down Kinnickinnic you will see culture, history, community, and growth.

This is a wonderful area to visit a local cafe, a small boutique, or rest on a park bench. It is a quiet neighborhood where you can bring family and friends and feel safe and at home.

"Wonderful Scenic Views"

Lake Dr has to be one of the most scenic streets in Milwaukee. If you start on the southside community of Bayview, you have beautiful parks, boats, and walking/bike paths.

Follow Lake Dr north over the Howe Bridge. This in itself can be a scenic delight. It is also a less stressful way to drive to or from work.

Heading further north on Lake Dr you come to downtown Milwaukee. You can see the creative structures from the art museaum, childrens museum, and a public beach.

Going even further north into the northern suburbs of Milwaukee you can see phenominal architecture of the LakeShore homes of Milwaukee. If you are looking for an afternoon drive with peace and relaxation Lake Dr is it.

"Looking for stores? Food? Mall? Fun? Activities?"

Great place to go if you are looking for something to do. If you need to go out with the family, catch up with a friend, or spend a night out with someone special.

There is an excellent mall called Southridge on the southern end of the street if you're looking for shopping. There are resturants up and down the street regardless if you are looking for a burger or a steak; mom and pop or a chain resturant. There are activities such as bowling, miniature golf, and parks for everyone.

The are many smaller strip malls with all kinds of specialized boutiques to meet anyone's shopping needs. Great place to go to look for something to do. 76th Street has everything from dollar stores to department stores.

"Excellent Affordable Neighborhood"

Perfect neighborhood to raise a family for single parents or couples. The houses are kept, the lawns are tended, and the flowers are blooming. There is a sense of community and you don't hear sirens at night like most places in the city.

There are several churches in the neighborhood depending on what your preference is. Many are historical in nature and thrive on the stabilty of the area.

The schools, although through Milwaukee Public School System, are some of the best in the city. The teachers and faculty staff genuinely care about the students, parents, and quality of education they provide.

The neighborhood consists of retirees, couples, and families mostly. People hold neighbborhood BBQ's and bake a cake for their neighbors. It's a pleasant place to live.

"Affordable, Mix Between Rural and City Life, Friendly, Good Schools, Community Focused"

MIlwaukee is a good mix between rural towns and the big city. There are not all of the glimmer and lights, and hustle and bustle of nearby Chicago. With that said, the traffic is reasonable and it easy to get from one side of the city to the other making commuting an option. Shopping is limited but the essentials can be found throughout the city.

Milwaukee has a diverse network of neighborhoods. Living in Milwaukee can be excellent for families, singles, couples, and retirees. There are different neighborhoods that could/would attract each. Housing for the most part, is very affordable for a city of its size. School and churches are of quality and have a strong foothold within the communities.

Things to do. The city has many sporting arenas for all venues. There are several historical sites and art displays throughout the city. They have a wonderful Botanical Gaarden and the Zoo is clean and well tended. Milwaukee offers an event for just about every ethnicity; such as Festa Italiana, German Fest, and let's not forget Summer Fest. Milwaukee has free jazz in the park in the summer and always has something going on somewhere.

My overall rating would be between a 3 and a 4.
