"Fish, hunt, work, play, gamble, worship & relax"

I used to live in Florida and I took my Florida friend who had never seen snow to the northernmost part of the midwest. We went for a vacation and never left!!! At one point, we had driven 47 miles and never met another car on the road. It's the most beautiful and peaceful place on earth.
New Town is located in the northwest central area of North Dakota, at the near-mouth of the Missouri River. The summer days are warm and the summer days are cool. The winter "gets a little chilly", but that's part of the adventure of living in New Town.
About 60 years ago, the government decided to place a dam along the Missouri River. What resulted, upstream from the dam, was a new "lake" which is actually a very wide swath of the Missouri River. With only three bridges across the Missouri in the state, New Town, although small, will flourish forever, because that's where one of the bridges is located. With a newly formed "lake", New Town is internationally famous for its fishing, hunting, and wildlife. It's also part of the Lewis & Clarke trail. The town caters to the fisherman and the lake is accessible by several state, county, and locally owned docks. You can camp in a tent, stay at a lodge, or get a motel room. Pick your pleasure.
The best kept secret about New Town is that just southwest of the town is our own little private "Badlands". They are as spectacular as the national park in South Dakota, only smaller. Teddy Roosevelt National Park is a short distance west of New Town and is home to wildlife, trails, and beautiful scenery.
The Native Americans own much of the land and have continuously and successfully run of the best casinos in the Midwest. They have added a beautiful hotel and convention center and host a multitude of company conventions and concerts that attract many people.
Life in New Town is slow, safe, quiet, peaceful, and affordable. The casino is the biggest employer where a person could work part-time, full-time, or full-time+. I worked at the casino as a full-time blackjack dealer but I also belonged to the "Eagle Team" which meant that whenever there was a special event, they recruited the Eagle Team to take tickets, seat people, run the concessions, etc. There are always jobs available. There's even a community college on the edge of town. The main street in downtown boasts that it's the widest main street in the country. That's because there are two access lanes that parallel the main street. I don't know why every city isn't set up this way. It's effecient and beautiful.
The schools are exceptional, staffed only by highly trained, effective, caring teachers. There are churches of many faiths either in New Town or in a town nearby.
